It has recently been confirmed by Government Testing
Authorities that it is possible for microwave ovens
to emit radiation levels that exceed the Australian
Standard and international emission limit, although
having no evidence of physical damage.
Under the Australian Standards 60335.2.25 (3350.2.25)
and National Health & Medical Research Council
guidelines have been put in place for permissible
levels of radiation leakage from microwave ovens used
in workplaces and public environments.
Employer's have a "duty of Care" to control
radiation leakage from microwave ovens in the workplace.
Employers can ensure this responsibility is discharged
by having their ovens tested and checked in accordance
with National Health & Research Council Procedures.
